Young Boys must go for goals

Young Boys have left themselves with a tricky test if they are qualify for the group stages of the Champions League, but the Swiss have the firepower to get the job done against Dinamo Zagreb.

A 1-1 draw in the first leg in Bern has left Young Boys needing to win or secure a high-scoring draw in the Stadion Maksimir on Tuesday evening, but they are certainly a side not short on attacking potency.

They have won five out of five in the Swiss league so far this term, scoring 16 goals in the process, with veteran Frenchman Guillaume Hoarau leading the way with four goals in five games.

He and Nicolas Ngamaleu, who has scored three times in four appearances so far this term in the league, will certainly put the home defence under pressure, despite Dinamo having kept two clean sheets at home in previous qualifying rounds.

On Wednesday evening PAOK Salonika will be aiming to put paid to two-time European champions Benfica and, having secured a 1-1 draw in the first leg in Lisbon, they should be in good heart.

However, Benfica faced a similarly tricky test in the last round, when having 1-0 in the home first leg, they secured a 1-1 draw away to Fenerbahce to progress to the play-off round.

That recent experience should stand them in good stead for the task in front of them, with PAOK having already accounted for FC Basel and Spartak Moscow.

The Lisbon Eagles have scored once in four of the six games they have played so far this season, while PAOK have only found the net twice in their last three games, so a tense encounter appears to be on the cards.
