There was plenty of top-level football over the weekend, with some key results and another poor performance from Manchester United!
Easter is always crucial at the top and bottom ends of the English leagues and this weekend was no exception.
1) Media stick the boot in on poor Utd
A lot has already been said about Manchester United’s 4-0 defeat at Everton on Sunday, with heavy criticism for those that featured for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side – who are 6/1 to beat Manchester City on Wednesday.
None more so than the Manchester Evening News, who were scathing with their player ratings!
2) A telling Premier League stat
As the post-mortem continues as to what went wrong for Man Utd at Goodison Park, some of the stats suggest what the pundits have been saying.
Every team, even the top clubs need to work hard and United (6/1 to finish in the top four) have been running less than any other side in the top flight!
3) VVD not confident of a Utd favour
Liverpool would like United to do them a favour, as the Reds seek their first top-flight title since 1990.
Despite another win for Liverpool at Cardiff on Sunday, Virgil Van Dijk is not holding out much hope of a helping hand from their rivals!
4) Palace like an upset
Crystal Palace (5/1 Top 10 Finish) might not have anything to play for, but the Eagles love causing problems for the big clubs.
The Eagles became only the second team to beat Arsenal at the Emirates this season….and their fans loved it!
5) Dortmund stay on Bayern’s heels
If anyone thought Borussia Dortmund (15/4 Outright Winners) would crumble in the Bundesliga title race, then think again!
They crushed Freiburg 4-0 away from home to remain just a point behind the leaders, with this stunning goal highlighting what they are capable of.
