United to offer no respite for struggling Eagles

Manchester United will be aiming to boost their top-four hopes with a win at struggling Crystal Palace on Monday evening.

Injuries have really hurt (no pun intended) the Eagles in recent weeks and their list of absentees currently includes the likes of Wilfried Zaha, Yohan Cabaye and Mamadou Sakho.

This has led to Roy Hodgson’s side dropping back into the relegation places after failing to win any of their last five games. More worryingly, they have a terrible record against United, not winning since 1991, while Hodgson has lost 11 of his previous 13 matches against the Red Devils.

Football is not played on paper or in history books though and the Eagles are one of those sides who can occasionally pull something out of the bag.

11/2 is a super price for a home win although it shows they are the severe underdogs against Jose Mourinho’s men, who in the Special One’s famous style, continue to grind out results.

Last weekend’s 2-1 win over Chelsea was a case in point but they arguably played some of their best football in September’s 4-0 win over the Eagles at Old Trafford.

They will expect to win again at 10/19 and this seems to be the type of game where Romelu Lukaku could turn up. The Belgian looked good against Chelsea, netting his side’s first goal and is 4/1 to break the deadlock on Monday.

In all honesty, it should be a comfortable evening for the Red Devils but they have a habit of making life awkward for themselves by conceding poor goals.

Therefore, it may well be worth looking at the 23/10 for an away win and both the score.
