Puel to pounce in the Potteries

The Premier League action continues this weekend and Saturday’s early game is one that could produce much more than expected when Stoke entertain Leicester.

Both claimed badly needed wins last time out and, despite not exactly being the most glamorous clubs, they have drawn 2-2 in their last two meetings in the Potteries.

A repeat scoreline is 14/1 although having seen Stoke struggle at home in recent weeks, Claude Puel’s side look good at 19/10 to make it two wins from as many games for the Frenchman.

In all honesty the three o’clock kick-offs are much of a muchness, but perhaps the one between Newcastle and Bournemouth stands out.

Despite sitting in the top half, the Magpies have been a mixed bag this season while we keep hearing how well the ‘plucky’ Cherries are playing even though they seemingly possess a pathological aversion to winning matches.

Bournemouth won on their last trip to Tyneside but, as he recently demonstrated against Crystal Palace, Rafael Benitez is the king at winning these type of games.

The home victory is pretty handy at 1/1 while possibly 1-0 at 13/2 or the 33/4 on offer for 2-1 could appeal.

Finally, the late game on Saturday is West Ham’s clash against Liverpool.

The Reds won this fixture 4-0 last time around and with it being the Hammers’ final game at home in their maiden campaign at the London Stadium, the result led to the most underwhelming lap of honour in recent history.

West Ham are currently doing what West Ham do best and that is somehow mixing moments of pure quality with total rubbish.

The same can probably be said for the Reds although the big pitch in Stratford should suit Jurgen Klopp’s men so do not be surprised if they pick up an away win to zero at 7/4.
