Mourinho to add to Stamford Bridge gloom

Jose Mourinho, Juan Mata, Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic can all enjoy a winning return to Stamford Bridge when Manchester United take on Chelsea on Sunday.

United have a very poor recent record at Chelsea, winning on only one of their last 15 visits to west London in a sequence stretching back to 2002, but they have a great chance of earning a rare three points against last season’s Premier League champions this weekend. Mourinho’s team are 41/20 to win Sunday’s match and 7/1 to edge it 1-0.

United suffered a humiliating 4-0 defeat to Antonio Conte’s side last season and were also knocked out of the FA Cup by the Blues, but they are far better defensively this term and have only conceded four goals in their first ten Premier League fixtures.

In contrast, Conte’s team have lost their defensive solidity recently, in part duo to injuries to Victor Moses and N’Golo Kante, but also because of the poor form of David Luiz and the surprising sale of Matic to Old Trafford in the summer.

They were appalling in the midweek 3-0 Champions League defeat to Roma and have only kept one clean sheet in their last eight matches in all competitions.

United are 41/20 to keep a clean sheet on Sunday with former Blues striker Lukaku 15/4 to score the first goal.

Since losing 2-1 at Huddersfield Town a fortnight ago, United have got back into the winning groove, securing 2-0 victories against Swansea City and Benfica and also emerging victorious thanks to Anthony Martial’s late goal against Tottenham last weekend.

Martial is 31/20 to score at any time on Sunday while United are 33/4 to win the match from behind.
