Goals on the agenda in potential title decider

Manchester City and Liverpool meet at the Etihad Stadium on Thursday in a fixture that could go a long way to deciding the Premier League title fight.

Defending champions City go into the game in third spot and seven points behind leaders Liverpool. A defeat may not necessarily be terminal to their title chances at this stage of the season, but it would leave them facing a huge uphill struggle regardless.

Both sides are better going forward than they are at the back and this fixture could deliver plenty of goals, rather than being a cagey affair where the two teams are more concerned about not losing than winning.

Both teams to score yes @ 10/17 & Over 3.5 goals @ 8/5

Given the attacking talent Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp and City counterpart Pep Guardiola have to call upon both teams to score looks a virtual banker. Earlier in the season these two played out a 0-0 draw at Anfield but a repeat result looks unlikely – as both teams have only drawn a blank once each since.

Over 3.5 goals is more ambitious, but as six of the last eight league games involving one of these heavyweights have yielded at least four goals the 8/5 on offer appears tempting.

Liverpool win and both to score @ 4/1

Picking a winner in this match-up is a tough task but the value is with Liverpool and they have the edge over City in recent clashes.

The Merseysiders have won three of the last four competitive meetings between the two and should be in confident mood as they seek a ninth straight win in all competitions.

The visitors are 13/5 to win but City won’t go down without a fight so the 4/1 for an away win with both teams to score really stands out.
