Chelsea offer value in Premier League title race

Eight games in and three teams are tied at the top of the table in what promises to be a fascinating Premier League campaign.

After Sunday’s matches, Manchester City lead the way on goal difference, with Chelsea second and Liverpool in third – all on 20 points.

The 0-0 draw between Jurgen Klopp’s and Pep Guardiola’s men highlighted how closely matched the two teams are, but it’s the surprise contenders who offer real value in the Premier League winner market.

Chelsea to win Premier League @ 8/1

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has already claimed his team are the underdogs and that the other two are “one step ahead” of the Blues.

But Chelsea’s new-found strength at the back, which wasn’t expected under attacking coach Sarri, has made them an attractive prospect.

Sarri admits his team are “closer than I thought” to their main rivals and in Eden Hazard – 11/2 to finish the season as top goalscorer – they have the outstanding player of the season so far.

Some pundits thought City might take their eye off the ball in the league and make the Champions League their priority (England 9/5 – Winning Nation).

So far, though, the defending champions have looked as good as last season and that’s why they are 2/3 favourites.

Liverpool remain unbeaten but after an outstanding start to the campaign they don’t appear to be firing on all cylinders in recent weeks.

However, with a decent-looking fixture list in the next month, many may be tempted by the 9/4 on offer.
