Blues aiming to edge out Reds

Jose Mourinho

The meeting of Chelsea and Manchester United at Stamford Bridge is without doubt the showpiece fixture of the Premier League programme on Saturday.

The Blues have made a fine start to their first season under the charge of new head coach Maurizio Sarri, while the return of Jose Mourinho to the Bridge always takes things up a notch.

Chelsea to win by one goal @ 12/5

United have lost on their last three visits to the Blues and have not scored in any of those three losses, so goals could be at something of a premium at lunchtime on Saturday.

Chelsea have also conceded just two goals in their last six games, so you may well consider the hosts to win to zero at 37/20 as a very reasonable prospect.

The meeting of Newcastle United and Brighton on Tyneside sees the home side looking to finally get a Premier League win on the board this season.

Two draws and six losses have left the Magpies near the wrong end of the table, but bear in mind that they have already played five of the big six.

The Seagulls fly in on the back of a much-needed 1-0 home win over West Ham, which saw them keep a first clean sheet of the league season.

With that performance in mind they should be hard to break down, but with the hosts knowing that this is a game they can target for a win, goals could be on the cards and a stalemate come the final whistle has plenty of appeal.

Finally, two newly-promoted teams meet in South wales, with Cardiff City playing host to Fulham.

The Bluebirds have found life hard back in the top flight, but have only narrowly lost to Spurs and Burnley in their last two outings.

Meanwhile, the Cottagers have fared little better, shipping 21 goals in eight league games, the worst record in the top flight, and if they show defensive frailties once again, they may well come unstuck against a City side sure to be highly motivated.
