Aguero gets the nod

Tuesday sees six Premier League games and Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero could well continue his superb goalscoring record against Newcastle.

Aguero to score a header in Man City v Newcastle @ 9/1

Newcastle are Aguero’s favourite opponents – he has scored more goals against them in his career than any other side, 14 in 12 appearances.

However, with City just 4/19 to win the game it’s no surprise to see Aguero at 1/2 to score at any time.

The way to get some value about the Argentine is to back him to score a header. Six of Aguero’s last 29 league goals have come via his head, while he has netted a header in three of his last five matches against the Magpies.

Throw in the fact that City have scored more goals from crosses than any other side and that Newcastle are particularly weak defending set pieces (10 goals conceded that way), the value could be with the Argentine in the air.

Manchester United to win both halves v Burnley @ 31/20

It’s now eight straight wins since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took charge of Manchester United and four of those matches have seen them win both halves.

Those four examples include two of the three league games at Old Trafford when Burnley’s fellow strugglers Huddersfield and Bournemouth were the visitors.

The Clarets have improved in recent weeks but beating the likes of Fulham and Huddersfield cannot be compared to taking on United in their current form.

Attacking with greater pace, the Red Devils have been banging in the goals and should be able to do so again in this one.

Huddersfield to beat Everton @ 3/1

Everton’s miserable season suffered yet another dip on Saturday when their inability to carry out basic defensive tasks was once again on full display at Millwall.

With the club’s trophyless run now guaranteed to hit 25 years and their current crop of players seemingly stuck in mid-table, confidence must be pretty low.

The same could be said of Huddersfield, who have lost 10 of their last 11 games, but they’ve just changed manager so some sort of reaction from the Terriers looks likely in Jan Siewert’s first match.

Everton appear ideal opponents for the hosts, who have admittedly struggled for goals. They will surely look to target the Toffees on set-pieces and they look good value to edge a tight game.
