Hodgson can gain key first Palace win

Roy Hodgson endured a tough opening fixture as Crystal Palace boss and will be desperate to secure a first win against Huddersfield on Tuesday evening.

The Eagles are seeking a place in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup, the competition in which Palace have secured their only win of the campaign to date, with victory over Ipswich.

The former England chief is looking to get a win under his belt as soon as possible and will hope a success, which can be backed at 5/8, can help build confidence for upcoming Premier League matches.

After a great start to the season, Huddersfield (7/4) have not won any of their last three games and have scored just one goal in that time.

There are two other all-Premier League ties on Tuesday as Leicester host Liverpool and Bournemouth face Brighton.

Jurgen Klopp’s men (13/10 in the match market) have lost on their last two visits to the King Power Stadium, but it could be third time lucky for the Reds.

Klopp admits he will make changes to his side for Tuesday’s clash and the hungry squad players are expected to prove too strong for a weakened Foxes XI, who could be without Jamie Vardy.

Bournemouth beat Brighton in last Friday’s Premier League game and are likely to see off their south-coast neighbours again in midweek.

The Cherries are 20/23 to win and the both teams to score looks a tempting price at 5/6.
