Toffees to come unstuck again

It’s the Europa League’s turn on Thursday and although the Champions League is the pinnacle, this competition is usually more exciting.

First things first and hapless Everton take on Atalanta. The 3-0 defeat in Italy was arguably the result that exposed the shortcomings’ of the Toffees’ squad and ultimately led to Ronald Koeman’s downfall.

La Dea were amazing that night and with Everton already out of this tournament and prioritising the Premier League, 6/5 looks excellent for the away win.

The other English team in action is Arsenal who may well be the value bet of the night. The Gunners have used this tournament to give their youngsters a chance, while their reserve players have also shone.

They have already qualified for the knockout rounds and will be keen to maintain their perfect record. Domestic woes have seen the Billy Goats forsake this tournament and 8/5 for the away win is extremely tempting.

Elsewhere and it might be a real long shot on paper by Astana’s 11/5 to beat Villarreal looks almost unmissable. The Kazaks are currently second in Group A, a point behind El Submarino Amarillo and having lost just twice at home this year, shocking the Spaniards is not out of the question.

Things seem pretty straightforward in the other games but Braga’s 47/20 to beat Hoffenheim definitely stands out. The Portuguese side won in Germany and with a victory guaranteeing them progress, it seems an outstanding price.

Finally, Partizan Begrade’s clash with Young Boys could cause an upset, with the Parni Valjak (Steamroller to me and you) second in Group B and in need of a victory. Their final pool game is a trip to Kiev to take on Dynamo and having grabbed a draw in Bern, 17/10 looks extremely kind for a home win.
