Luton Town are marching towards promotion from League One and currently sit five points clear at the top of the table. They face play-off hopefuls Doncaster on Saturday and should have too much for Rovers as we are forced to look at League One and Two for this week’s bets due to the absence of the Premier League and Championship.
Rovers came out on top when the two sides meet in South Yorkshire but the Hatters are a different animal at Kenilworth Road. They are unbeaten on home soil this term, winning 14 of the 19 matches played so far.
They have stuttered slightly of late with two draws in the last three but Doncaster’s away form offers plenty of hope they can get the three points in this one. It is no win in seven for Grant McCann’s men, while they haven’t won on the road in the league in 2019.
One team ready to leapfrog Doncaster into the play-offs is Coventry, who have won the last two to move within a point of sixth. The Sky Blues have plenty of issues off the field so Saturday’s clash with Oxford United should come as a welcome distraction.
The U’s are one of 12 teams embroiled in the relegation battle in League One and have picked up some valuable results of late. However, they have only won once away from home this season and only Blackpool have managed fewer goals on their travels than Karl Robinson’s men.
The Stags are clinging on to the last automatic promotion place in League Two after a run of three games without a win. David Flitcroft’s men couldn’t hold on for a big three points against leaders Lincoln last week but should take a bit of confidence from that showing.
They have an excellent record at Field Mill and are facing poor travellers Crewe on Saturday. The Railwaymen recorded a shock 6-1 win over Crawley last week but that was their first win in five, ending a run of three games without a goal in style.
They have slim hopes of the play-offs and Mansfield at even money are worth getting behind.
