Warnock can enjoy Elland Road return

Cardiff City can hand Neil Warnock a boost by securing a hard-fought victory at Leeds United this weekend.

The 69-year-old was in charge at Elland Road between February 2012 and April 2013 but was axed when a string of defeats had left United just five points above the Championship’s relegation zone.

After spells at Crystal Palace, QPR and Rotherham United, Warnock has reinvigorated Cardiff since his appointment 15 months ago and they are 5/2 to be promoted this season and 8/5 to beat Leeds.

Free-scoring Fulham are sixth after a scintillating spell of six wins and a draw in their last seven matches. They score and concede lots of goals so it may be wise to bet on a Fulham win and both teams to score, available at 19/10, when Nottingham Forest visit Craven Cottage.

Aston Villa have moved into promotion contention after winning their last five matches and Steve Bruce’s outfit can make it six victories in a row by defeating rock-bottom Burton Albion. Villa are 17/2 to triumph against the hapless Brewers by four goals or more.

Sunderland are in dire need of three points after slumping to a 3-1 defeat at fellow strugglers Birmingham City on Tuesday.

Chris Coleman’s team beat Hull City in their last home match and can earn another victory this weekend against mid-table Ipswich Town, available at 27/20. The Black Cats can also be backed at 7/4 to keep a clean sheet against Mick McCarthy’s men.

Bolton can ease their relegation concerns by beating inconsistent Bristol City at 14/5 while the mid-table clash between Norwich City and Middlesbrough looks set to end in a draw, available at 43/20.
