Daily Tip – Rams to expose exhausted Blades

Gary Rowett

Happy New Year everyone and let’s see if we can get off to a winning start to 2018 by backing Derby to beat Sheffield United.

The Rams seem on to a good thing under Gary Rowett, remaining unbeaten in six, five of which have been wins.

United’s strong start to the campaign is now a thing of the past and it appears their small squad is suffering under the weight of the heavy fixture list.

Saturday’s 1-0 home defeat to Bolton was a shock to us all and ended their recent mini-revival.

Both are in play-off contention but Derby are the form team and will be looking for revenge after going down 3-1 at Bramall Lane in August.

A home win at 23/20 seems too tempting to turn down and Derby should run out handy winners for us.

I also like the 6/5 for Sunderland to win at home to Barnsley. The Black Cats are steadily improving, winning 1-0 at Nottingham Forest at the weekend, while the Tykes have not tasted victory in 10.

Sheffield United’s squad-related woes also seem to be affecting Barnsley and the trip to the Stadium of Light could prove a game too far for Paul Heckingbottom’s men.
