Blades to continue sharp rise

Midweek Championship action returns this week and Sheffield United have an ideal opportunity to extend their lead at the top of the table when they travel to Queens Park Rangers.

The Blades have looked super sharp (pun totally intended) since finally winning promotion to the Championship and Friday’s 2-1 win over Leeds saw them reach the top.

QPR also won at the weekend, doing United a favour by beating Wolves but have been a model of inconsistency this season and the away triumph on Tuesday at 33/20 seems almost too good to ignore.

Speaking of Wolves and they could face a tough night when they travel east to Norwich.

The Canaries lost to Derby on Saturday but that came on the back of a number of their players having featured in all 120 minutes of the League Cup defeat at Arsenal.

Despite the Rams loss, they are usually good at home and it is on the road where Nuno Espirito Santo’s men have typically fallen.

The 33/20 is an extremely tempting price for the home win and Daniel Farke’s men could provide another blow to their opponent’s title hopes.

At the other end of the standings, Simon Grayson will reportedly be sacked if his 23rd-place Sunderland fail to beat bottom club Bolton.

It would be pointless dressing this up as both teams have been rubbish this season but home advantage could be key and despite their plight, the Black Cats being just 4/5 perhaps says it all.

Finally there are two games on Wednesday, the pick of which is Aston Villa’s trip to Preston.

Four games without a win has put the skids on PNE’s promotion push, while a lack of consistency is hurting the Villans.

A tight game is likely but the quality in the Villa squad means they are always worth backing, especially at 39/20.
