Big boys to thrive, while Monk can win on Leeds return

After a fortnight off, the domestic action returns this weekend (hooray!!!) and the Championship promises to throw up plenty of twists and turns.

It all kicks off on Friday and Sheffield United are 1/1 to go back to the top of the table with a win at Burton. Brewers’ boss Nigel Clough was previously in charge of the Blades but his side could come up short.

There’s also a Lancashire derby between Preston and Bolton. PNE started well but have not won since September while in contrast, the Trotters have found their groove and are unbeaten in five.

The international break arguably came at the wrong time for Phil Parkinson’s men and at 20/23, this could be the game where Preston finally get back on track.

Of the three o’clock games, Wolves’ trips to Reading appeals and Nuno Santo’s side can get the job done at 10/11 and for those looking for value, do not rule out the 47/20 for Millwall to win at Sunderland.

There’s also a 5:30 game on Saturday as Fulham take on Derby. The Cottagers have been one of the disappointments of the season, failing to win in five and the Rams will head to the capital in a confident mood, despite losing last time out.

Both have quality throughout but Gary Rowett seems to be getting his act together and 9/4 for a Rams win is an excellent price.

Finally to Sunday’s game which sees Garry Monk return to Elland Road, as his Middlesbrough side take on Leeds. While Boro have won their last three, the Whites have lost their last trio of outings.

Despite their contrasting form, both will fancy themselves but the 8/5 on offer for an away win seems extremely generous for what appears a likely result.
