Barcelona may have already qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League and look set to name a weakened side on Tuesday but it might still be asking too much of Tottenham to win at the Nou Camp.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side lost 4-2 at home to the La Liga champions but the 2-1 defeat at the San Siro to Inter Milan in September appears to be their most damaging setback in Group B.
Spurs have won 12 of their 16 Premier League matches but Barca are once again at the top of La Liga and crushed Espanyol 4-0 on Saturday.
The north Londoners will qualify if their result on Tuesday matches or betters Inter’s at home to PSV Eindhoven but, while the Dutch team are two points clear at the top of the Eredivisie, they have struggled with the step up in class to the Champions League.
Even a victory for PSV will not lift them off the foot of the table, so a routine 2-0 victory for Inter (7/1) coupled with a draw for Spurs, will leave Pochettino’s team slipping into the Europa League in the new year.
Liverpool have lost all three of their away games in Group C but could still qualify for the last 16.
The Reds, unbeaten in the Premier League and top of the table after winning 4-0 at Bournemouth on Saturday, are a different proposition at Anfield and have the ability to beat Carlo Ancelotti’s side comfortably.
Paris Saint-Germain, for all their inconsistencies in the Champions League, could edge to a one-goal victory in Belgrade against Red Star (16/5).
Atletico Madrid can seal top spot in Group A by beating Club Brugge in Belgium at 2/3 while Borussia Dortmund should dispose of Monaco quite easily, with Mario Gotze 13/2 to score the first goal against Thierry Henry’s team.
In Group D Galatasaray can beat a Porto side that are already guaranteed to finish top at 13/10 while Lokomotiv Moscow, who can still finish third and qualify for the Europa League, are 51/20 to draw with Schalke.
