Spurs look under-rated

Harry Kane and Son Heung-min

Spurs’ chances appear to have been under-estimated ahead of their Champions League showdown with Manchester City on Tuesday but Liverpool are worthy favourites.

Spurs may have started this competition by winning just one point from three group games, but the following four have seen them post wins ‘to nil’ over Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund (twice), and claim a 1-1 draw in Barcelona.

Spurs to beat Man City @ 16/5

On home soil and potentially facing a City side without Sergio Aguero, Tottenham look big at 16/5 to claim a first-leg lead.

Mauricio Pochettino will be well aware of the need to take something to the Etihad where City have won 23 of their 25 games this season and in Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen and Son Heung-min, Spurs have the players to really test the City defence.

Man City to score under 1.5 goals @ 21/20

City were below their best on Saturday as they edged past Brighton 1-0 in the FA Cup semis and some would suggest tiredness is creeping in as they continue to face an arduous schedule.

Only Wolves, Barcelona and Liverpool have scored more than once when visiting Spurs this season (City won 1-0 in October) and under 1.5 City goals appeal at odds-against.

Liverpool to score in both halves v Porto @ 20/21

Liverpool host Porto in the night’s other game and look good for a comfortable victory.

The Reds’ attack could have a field day against a defence which looks set to be considerably rejigged with Pepe suspended and Alex Telles injured.

Liverpool have scored in both halves in their last five games, including away to Bayern Munich, and also managed it against both PSG and Red Star at home in the group stages.
