Many pundits felt Group D was a foregone conclusion when the draw was made with Barcelona and Juventus the red-hot favourites to progress.

Sporting Lisbon had other thoughts though, and have given themselves a chance to upset the big two and make it to the knockout stages (6/1).

The Portuguese outfit have three points to date, but have run both Barca and Juve close in their last two games and, back on home soil, are 29/10 to defeat the Italian champions (21/20).

The key game of the night takes place at the Stadio Olympico, where the top two in Group C go head-to-head – Roma and Chelsea (Match Betting – Roma 33/20, Draw 5/2, Chelsea 7/4).

It was a 3-3 thriller when the two clubs met at Stamford Bridge a fortnight ago, but don’t expect as many goals this time around.

Roma have kept clean sheets in their last three league games and with Chelsea also keeping Bournemouth at bay on Saturday, Under 2.5 goals is a tempting 11/10.

With Barcelona, Manchester United and PSG highly likely to take big steps towards qualification on Tuesday night, the other game to consider is the match in Switzerland.

Basel (4/5 to beat CSKA Moscow) have given themselves a great chance of qualifying from Group A (2/7) after two impressive displays in recent weeks.

Having lost their opening game 3-0 at Old Trafford, Raphael Wicky’s men have won their last two European fixtures – scoring seven and not conceding a goal.

Their return fixture with CSKA Moscow takes place at St Jakob Park on Tuesday and it’s hard to look past the hosts, especially with their Russian opponents in poor form – with just one win in their last eight in all competitions.
