Away day joy for Swiss hopes Basel

Champions League Group A is still wide open going into the final round of matches, with three teams battling for the two qualification places.

Tuesday sees Basel (6/4 in Match Betting) make the trip to Portugal, knowing that a win over Benfica should be enough for them to qualify for the knockout stages.

The Swiss side have already won at CSKA Moscow and have more than enough quality to see of a Benfica team that have yet to collect a point in their five group games, conceding 12 goals in the process.

Basel in contrast, have only lost one of their last 15 games in all competitions.

There isn’t as much at stake, in terms of qualification, in the big Group B clash in Munich – but it’s always a heavyweight battle when Bayern Munich come up against Paris Saint-Germain.

PSG beat the Bundesliga champions 3-0 at home on Matchday Two, although that scoreline did flatter them and Bayern will be out for revenge at the Allianz Arena.

Juup Heynckes’ men are big price at 29/20 to win on Tuesday night, especially when you consider that they have lost just one of their last 19 Champions League fixtures on home turf.

It’s not as big a price (20/23), but Celtic should have enough to see of Anderlecht and confirm third spot in the same group.

The Scottish Premiership leaders won 3-0 in Belgium in the reverse fixture and should have enough quality to win in front of a packed house at Celtic Park.
