Aussies favoured for Hobart win

England are likely to have it all to do when they open their Trans-Tasman T20 series campaign against Australian in Hobart on Wednesday.

The hosts have a huge advantage in having already played in the competition, enjoying a comprehensive win over New Zealand, so Australia at 5/8 to beat England is little surprise.

The value lies with backing the tourists to win at the Bellerive Oval at 11/10, with the only previous T20 meeting between the two sides in Hobart ending in a run-laden, 13-run win for the Baggy Greens.

With the ball, giant seamer Billy Stanlake (3-15) and mix-up specialist Andrew Tye ( 4-23) did most of the damage against the Black caps and Stanlake appears to be a very decent option at 4/1 to be top team bowler against England.

For England, left-arm spinner Liam Dawson impressed in their only warm-up match so you may be tempted to back the Hampshire man at 11/2 to be top team bowler.

With the bat, Chris Lynn enjoyed himself in smashing 44 from 33 balls against New Zealand while Glenn Maxwell also impressed in making an unbeaten 40 from just 24 deliveries.

Lynn is 5/2 to be top team batsman so Maxwell offers better prospects at 9/2, especially as he has a point to prove after missing out on the Ashes series.

England have a doubt over opener Jason Roy due to injury so you may want to look elsewhere for this match.

Rising Test star Dawid Malan entered the international stage in the T20 to begin with and clearly enjoys the shortest form of the game so 11/2 to be top team batsman is worthy of consideration.
