Toffees too good for Watford

Marco Silva

Everton sit seventh in the Premier League, but, despite only winning one of their last four, can be backed to shine tonight.

Everton to win and both teams to score @ 9/4

The Toffees have extra motivation this evening – or more so boss Marco Silva does – having been fired by the Hornets after a run of poor form in the aftermath of heavy links with Goodison Park last autumn.

Silva seems to be doing a decent job on Merseyside, as does his successor at Vicarage Road, Javi Gracia, although his team currently appear to be experiencing a blip.

The Hornets have lost their last three to slip to 13th and under Silva’s tutelage, squandered a two-goal lead in this fixture last term, going down 3-2, making it five without a victory Goodison.

That statistic prompts further scrutiny of their record on the road and it takes little research to find they have won only two of their last 19 away from home.

I expect more of the same tonight and fancy Everton to get back to winning ways in an entertaining fixture.

Over 2.5 goals @ 1/1

Our second tip comes from Spain where Athletic Bilbao take on Girona at San Mames.

Los Leones sacked Eduardo Berizzo after last Monday’s 3-0 reverse at Levante and replacement Gaizka Garitano made a winning start to his reign with a 4-0 Copa del Rey win at Huesca.

Tonight is all about the league when they host a Girona team unbeaten in eight and who are going well despite their extensive injury list.

This could be an expansive game so expect goals on both sides and plenty of excitement at either end.
