Super Spurs too good for the Blues

Dele Alli

Tottenham inflicted Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri’s maiden Premier League defeat and can repeat the trick tonight in the EFL Cup.

Spurs to win @ 6/4

That night in November was arguably Spurs’ best performance of the season and while they surprisingly lost 3-1 to Wolves in their last outing at Wembley, the Lilywhites had won their four home matches before that.

A 7-0 FA Cup win over Tranmere booked their progress into the fourth round and they have won their last two games against the Blues.

Chelsea also progressed in the FA Cup, beating Nottingham Forest 2-0 and Sarri is likely to restore much of his first-choice XI, with the EFL Cup a real chance for silverware.

That might not be enough though and with Spurs in such fine fettle, back them to carve out a first-leg lead.

Nantes v Montpellier – Draw @ 41/20

Two evenly matched sides meet in Ligue 1 as Nantes welcome Montpellier to the Stade de la Beaujoire.

Les Canaris have won five of their last six meetings and Vahid Halilhodzic’s side impressed in Friday’s 4-1 Coupe de France win over Chateauroux.

Tonight’s opposition La Paillade sit fourth in the table and while they have no chance of emulating their historic title-winning campaign of 2011-12, they look closer to that vintage than the one who has spent the last few years battling against relegation.

Getting something out of games like this are where they have made their fortune this season and I think both sides would take a point from this one.
