Expect a Kiev classic

Group F has arguably been the most fun pool in this season’s Champions League and we can expect more excitement when Lyon visit Shakhtar Donetsk tonight.

Over 3.5 goals @ 27/20

With Manchester City having qualified, Lyon sit second and a draw will be enough to see them through. However, that will be easier said than done against a Shakhtar team who scored a stoppage-time winner away at Hoffenheim last time out.

Political issues mean the Ukrainian champions must again play in a different venue, with tonight’s match taking place in Kiev, but that should by no means dampen the spirits of both sides.

October’s 2-2 draw between the pair perhaps gives us an indication of what to expect and while these two are tough to split, it seems almost foolish to bet against plenty of goalmouth action.

Valencia v Manchester United – Draw @ 23/10

Over in Spain, where the temperature may be a touch warmer, Valencia welcome Manchester United in Group H.

Los Che can only finish third in the pool, while United have qualified and could go through in top spot, although that would rely on Juventus surprisingly slipping up against Young Boys.

With a trip to Liverpool on Sunday, Jose Mourinho may take a cautious approach and faces a side who are real draw specialists.

Valencia have tied five of their 11 games at the Mestalla this season 1-1 and, having played out a stalemate at Old Trafford, both sides would probably be quite happy to take a share of the spoils again.
