Danish delight in Dublin

Ronald Koeman

Republic of Ireland looked limited in their 4-1 defeat to Wales and could be exposed again tonight against Denmark.

Denmark to win @ 7/5

After failing to qualify for the World Cup, the Nations League could not have started worse for Martin O’Neill’s men as they were totally outclassed by their Celtic neighbours.

O’Neill will hope a return to home turf in Dublin will get the best out of his side but will be aware that they lost 5-1 to the Danes in their last competitive outing at the Aviva.

Christian Eriksen was the architect of their demise that night but is likely to miss out through an abdominal issue, a scenario that could turn neutrals off as it is likely to be a cagey game without him.

Denmark are a decent, functional outfit though, and will fancy themselves to make it two wins from two in League 2 Group D.

The Netherlands to win @ 43/20

This is a bit more of a long shot but the Netherlands are an improving side and Ronald Koeman has challenged his players to believe in themselves ahead of the visit of Germany to Amsterdam.

Die Mannschaft are still in a muddle after their disastrous World Cup and despite some new faces, continue to struggle when it comes to moving the ball with any real pace.

The Dutch pushed France hard in September and if they can play with the same zest and verve, they could well exploit a German defence who have conceded at least one goal in nine of their last 10 games.
