Daily Tips – Roma to turn the CL tables on Shakhtar

Roma may have been second best in their opening Champions League clash against Shakhtar Donetsk but can make home advantage count tonight.

Last month’s round of 16 first leg was played in freezing temperatures in Kharkiv and Shakhtar took full advantage to win 2-1, with some of the Giallorossi players clearly not fancying it.

They are a different proposition at the Olimpico though and having rotated in Friday’s 3-0 win over Torino, Eusebio Di Francesco is likely to recall the likes of Edin Dzeko and Federico Fazio.

The Hirnyky are flying at home and having won the last four meetings between these sides, can push Roma hard in what is a finely poised tie.

However, I think the Italians will have too much on the night and fancy both the 10/11 for them to qualify and a home win and both to score at 17/10.

Elsewhere and there is also Championship action and the price that’s caught my eye is the one for a Cardiff win away at Brentford.

The Bluebirds have been excellent this season and Neil Warnock’s talent is again showing through at this level.

Brentford are one of the Championship’s enigmas, brilliant one day, awful the next, and it is this lack of consistency that has hindered their promotion hopes.

Defeats to Leeds United and Millwall have set them back, while the rumours linking manager Dean Smith to West Brom won’t be helping either.

All in all, 2/1 for the away win looks a great price and I’ll definitely be having a punt.
