It has been a poor season for Lille, and Nice are unlikely to give them any Christmas cheer at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy.
Les Dogues were tipped for big things following the summer appointment of Marcelo Bielsa but the Argentine’s reign was a disaster.
Despite a mini-turnaround upon his initial departure, they have struggled since and were woeful in Saturday’s 3-0 defeat at Dijon.
Nice have won their last four in Ligue 1, putting a slow start to the season behind them to move up to sixth.
Interestingly they have not lost in Lille since 2006 and won on penalties in Hauts-de-France last week in the Coupe de la Ligue.
Having done the business for us on Sunday, I think Les Aiglons can do it again and 9/5 seems a very generous price when you consider their hosts’ problems.
It is likely to be tight though, especially with Nice’s top scorer Mario Balotelli suspended, and so it may well turn out to be an away win to zero at 3/1, especially with Lille still so shy in front of goal.
