The EFL Cup is the only trophy Arsene Wenger has not won during his time in England and I believe his Arsenal side can continue their strong recent run against Chelsea.
The pair have drawn all three of their meetings this season – including their first-leg stalemate – and for all of their defensive lapses against other opposition, it has been strange to see the Gunners keep clean sheets on two of those occasions.
With a place at Wembley against Manchester City in the final on the line, I can see both teams opening up and over 3.5 goals could be the case at 19/10.
However, Antonio Conte has yet to beat Wenger since arriving in England and history has a funny way of repeating itself in these games.
The Frenchman got one over on the Italian in last year’s FA Cup final and I believe Arsenal can again seal the win at 17/10.
Elsewhere, I also fancy Feyenoord to do the business at Utrecht. The Eredivisie champions are pretty much out of the title race following Sunday’s defeat at Ajax, but they ended 2017 in strong form.
De club aan de Maas will also have Robin van Persie available following his move from Fenerbahce and although he may not start at the Stadion Galgenwaard, it seems written in the stars for him to make a winning return at 23/20.
