City success to continue at Wembley

305

Chelsea and Manchester City meet in the traditional season curtain-raiser at Wembley this afternoon and it looks all set for a Citizens success.

City to win @ 11/10

The Citizens swept all before them last season in the Premier League last term and while his rivals have complained about the rights and wrongs of the transfer window, Pep Guardiola has seemed fairly content with life.

Despite winning the FA Cup, it has been all change at Chelsea but Maurizio Sarri is very much in the infancy of his reign after his arrival at Stamford Bridge was delayed.

Sarri is a superb coach but has had little time to shape his troops and may struggle at Wembley, with City primed to win this competition for the first time since 2012.

Stoke to win @ 6/4

Both Leeds and Stoke take a step into the unknown at Elland Road as Marcelo Bielsa and Gary Rowett take charge of their sides for the first time.

El Loco’s appointment could either be tremendous or terrible, but it will be fun finding out.

Rowett seems a more pragmatic choice and having added solid, Championship players, his side are perhaps rightly the favourites for promotion.

Although the home fans will be buoyed by expectations, back the Potters to make a winning start on their return to the second tier.
